Description
Responsible for leading an account team for a Financial Services client. The Account Director will manage the development of marketing plans designed to leverage key properties in the client's sponsorship portfolio which may include MLB, MLB Teams, NFL, NFL teams, NASCAR, tracks, drivers, as well as regional/local sponsorships. This position will work closely with the Executive Vice President and Vice President who oversee the account day-to-day, as well as with other Account Directors, key players from the client team and other agency partners. Position will have significant personnel and project management responsibilities and requires a desire to work as part of a team, but the ability to solve problems independently. In addition, the position will require travel and on-site staffing for major events.
Job Requirements
Responsibilities and Duties:
Build and manage relationships with key clients
Lead the development of sponsorship strategies and activation programs to support client brand, business and community goals
Assist with the sell-in of new programs
Provide industry trends, research, competitive, and POVS
Manage relationships with outside vendors and properties
Prepare written communications for various organizations/clients, including business cases, case studies, position papers, etc.
Liaison with agency partners (advertising, media, online, PR, etc) serving as a subject matter expert for sponsorship programming
Manage other members of account team
Required Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree in a related field and 7-10 years in a traditional marketing role, agency experience a plus
Experience in creating strategic marketing plans involving professional teams/properties, MLB, NFL or NASCAR related experience a plus
Excellent communication skills
Experience analyzing data to build successful promotions
Excellent organization skills and attention to detail, including the ability to manage multiple projects
Experience managing a team and working in a collaborative environment
Computer proficiency, including MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Financial Services industry experience a plus
Willingness to work long hours and travel on weekends
